Does anyone
else get supper excited when they get a new classroom? Opening up all
those boxes is like Christmas, until you discover a box full of itchy
sweaters or in my case boxes full of old outdated worksheets...yuck!
I love
walking into a classroom and imagining how the classroom will look. What
will the children see? How can I make them independent in everything
they do? How can they use each space for a variety of activities? I
spend days envisioning, moving furniture and even drawing it out. I love
computers, but there is something about drawing it all out. I love
seeing it all come together. However, just because it is there on the
first day does not mean it will stay there all year. Classrooms are not
stationary items, they NEED to change as easily as the children within
them.
